What is your favorite thing or things to do when you're not at CFS?

I love spending time with my family and friends, hosting dinner parties at my house and enjoying a nice glass of wine.

What made you want to start CrossFit?

I was feeling unhealthy and unfit. I've always been only concentrated on my family and kids, felt it was time to focus on doing something good for myself.

What motivates you through a tough WOD?

The support of the coaches and other athletes and knowing the harder I push myself the better I'll become.

What is your favorite motivational quote?

"The question isn't who is going to let me: its who is going to stop me." - Ayn Rand.

No one can stop me from proving myself.

What is some advice you'd give to someone new to CrossFit Skunk or just started CrossFit?

Stick with it, if I could do it, you can do it. Its definitely not easy but you can challenge yourself at your own level and feel yourself getting stronger. Don't compare yourself to others.

What is something you've done at CFS that you never thought you'd do?

A lot. The lifting, running, box jumps, hand stand push ups. I would have never thought I could do half the stuff we do at CFS but I’m loving every minute of it.

What are your CrossFit goals?

I would love to lose this belly but I know that has to do more with what I eat and drink. I feel I’m doing the best I can at my ability so my goal right now is to feel more confident when I walk in there and not nervous thinking I won’t be able to handle the work out.

What is your most favorite or least favorite movement?

My favorite movement is jumping rope and attempting doubleunders, can't wait to be doing more than one consecutively. My least favorite movement is the snatch, that’s when I feel my weakest. Oh and rowing, just don’t like it.

What is your biggest accomplishment since starting CrossFit?

I feel my biggest accomplishment is running a 5K. I've never liked running and have never run more than a mile in my life. CrossFit helped me build up my endurance to finish the 5k running/jogging the entire distance.

What have you learned since joining CrossFit Skunk?

It feels good to push myself to the limit with others who have become friends. I’ve never felt such compassion in any other gym I’ve tried and that definitely helps motivate me to work harder. I’m definitely getting stronger.

Thank you Deb, Donna, Kelly and Marjorie. Love each of your classes and learn so much from you.

I am so happy I got the courage to pick up the phone and call CrossFit Skunk, there’s no stopping now!
